To What End is an interdisciplinary celebration of the unknown. This solo endeavor is bolstered by extensive improvisatory research in the relationship between the voice and the body, control and perfection, the conscious and subconscious and the truth available in layered artistic expression. With this work I'm practicing a gentle and fluid approach, viewing my physical, vocal and instrumental outputs with a sense of wonder and curiosity regardless of expertise. Rather than prescribe an agenda or goal, I'm continually loosening my grip and allowing my subconscious to guide me towards the work's unknown culmination. I'm challenging myself to metaphorically walk blindly into the future with only my instincts, my boundaries and the energetic feedback of my witnesses to orient me. By softening my edges, dropping out of my brain and into my body I aim to share my true nature, specific to that present moment, with uninhibited honesty.
